Was It Like this Last Time?

Dear Reader,

On Monday, I had a conversation with Chris, a core member of our launch team (how we connected is a God story in and of itself). Chris asked, “Was it like this last time?” He wondered if things went like this when we planted a church many years prior in Connecticut. The reason he asked is that we were both marveling at how many things God has been doing and providing to bring One Life Church from vision into reality. After all, Bayside Church had just donated a trailer to us to store our gear, and the friend who picked it up with me, surprisingly, dropped it off at his contact’s place to have the trailer stripped and wrapped with our church’s logo at his expense.

We are also excited about the wonderful people we met at our last Interest Dinner Party and are thrilled to meet the ones signing up for the next one in a couple of weeks. Additionally, churches and individuals are following up to let us know what they can do financially to help us kick off, and we are about 1/3 of the way to our launch budget goal! All of this and more is on top of what I mentioned last time; we have a place to hold services, a worship leader and a Children’s Ministry Director, a group of wonderful people gathering and growing together in discipleship, and more. God is doing amazing things, and we are thankful!

So to answer Chris’ question -yes and no. Yes, God is putting together divine connections/encounters, giving miraculous provision and meeting our needs every step of the way. But no, He isn’t doing it exactly the same. He is doing a new thing, a new way. He is keeping us on the edge of our seats, anticipating what comes next, even as He continually reminds us that He is with us and for us. And I, for one, am truly grateful to God for this, and to all the people/churches who are obediently and generously being His instruments of blessing in this exciting season.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

-Bill

Dear Reader, First of all, thank you so much for coming along with me on the journey to the release of my first book, The Rest of the Man's Show, this year! I love hearing stories of how it is reaching people. I recently ran into a guy I know from the cowork space I work out of downtown. He told me he's not religious, but he loved the book so much that he bought copies for his family as gifts this month. He told me he's curious to see their reaction when they receive this gift from him, since...

Dear Reader, I know we are knee deep in the Christmas season, so I will keep this very brief. We continue to have significant momentum as we build and prepare to launch early next year. Here are three quick, important updates: Launch date - Our launch date has been moved one week from 2/22/26 to 3/1/26 to resolve scheduling issues. Launch budget - We are 1/3 of the way towards our $150,000 launch budget goal. We need to order a bulk of our gear very soon to ensure it is on hand and ready for...

Dear Reader, Believe it or not, I do have plans to write another book, which I look forward to, but that will have to wait until after I complete my current project, launching One Life Church. It has been nearly 2 months since I last sent an update, so I wanted to share some of the great things God has helped us to accomplish since then! We have secured a place to meet for church services! We have a worship leader and a Children's Director! We have been approved by the SBC as a SEND church...
